Kirkpatrick walked across the room to hiscomputer.He read some emails and answered them.After about an hour.Shepherd came over to his desk. 
'Here's more on Van Delfl and his business,'shesaid,and gave him some papers. 
'Thanks.'said Kirkpatrick. 
'Van Delft's ships come into Southampton,Amsterdam and other places in Europe,'saidShepherd.'And…wait for it…they come from Angola,Liberia,Nigeria and some other African countries.' 
'Countries with diamonds,'said Kirkpatrick. 
'Yes,'said Shepherd.'And guns are important inthese countries too.' 
Kirkpatrick didn't say anything for a minute.Then he looked at Shepherd. 
'What about Lafon Jewellery?'he asked. 
'I'm just starting to look for it on the Internet,'she said,and walked back across the room to hercomputer. 
After about ten minutes Kirkpatrick's phone rang.He answered it. 
'Kirkpatrick.' 
'Van Delft here.1 want to talk to you.Ten o'clockthis evening.Be on the street in front of St Paul'sCathedral.' 
The phone went dead. 
'Yes!'thought Kirkpatrick.'Now we're going toget a good story!' 
He looked across the room but Shepherd wasn'tthere.
